Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill has been transforming traditional Mexican cuisine since its inception in 2003. By utilizing whole, authentic ingredients and crafting the entire menu from scratch, Costa Vida has established a healthier, lighter interpretation of Mexican food that evokes the essence of coastal dining. Currently, Costa Vida operates in a growing number of states across the U.S. and Canada, positioning itself as one of the rapidly expanding restaurant franchises in North America.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Financial Operations Manager will assist the Senior Director of Finance in overseeing the company's comprehensive accounting functions. This encompasses the generation of regular financial reports, the upkeep of accounting records, and the supervision of the execution of accounting policies and procedures. The Financial Operations Manager will also guarantee the precision of the company's financial disclosures and ensure compliance with GAAP standards. This role is pivotal in financial planning and analysis, internal controls, and facilitating the audit process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Controller in managing accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
  • Prepare and disseminate timely monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Manage compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
  • Assist in preparing for the annual audit and serve as a liaison with external auditors.
  • Support the Senior Director of Finance with special projects and process improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and managing general ledger functions.
  • Proficient in accounting software and administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through effectively.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in the Food & Beverage sector is advantageous.
