Job Summary

The Operations Manager position at Vista Recreation oversees medium-level concession and permit areas. This role is responsible for the complete management of a certain assigned geographic location, including personnel, regular operations, financial accountability, equipment care, facility maintenance, and governmental liaison responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all regular operations for the assigned permitted area.
  • Understand and implement the Operating Plan for the assigned area, and ensure compliance with all pertinent laws, rules, and local regulations.
  • Exercise full supervisory responsibility for employees, including recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ongoing safety meetings.
  • Address visitor complaints and incidents, and take necessary actions to resolve situations.
  • Oversee and correct deficiencies in operations to comply with Permit, Operating Plan, and Company operating standards.
  • Ensure customer service is handled in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Participate in fee collection, facility and grounds maintenance, utility system testing, and other operations as needed.
  • Secure, process, and maintain all records for revenues, and submit reports as instructed.
Requirements
  • Prior operations management experience, preferably with Vista Recreation.
  • Thorough understanding of Company procedures and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Prior personnel management experience, open to feedback, and a desire for continuous learning.
  • Knowledge of general bookkeeping principles, purchasing, employee relations, and public relations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and safety compliance.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office and working knowledge of general office equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in an environment of extensive public contact.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resilient.
  • Basic manual labor abilities, including the ability and willingness to clean and sanitize facilities with a variety of cleaning agents and chemicals.
  • Solid administrative abilities and computer skills, including recordkeeping and money handling.
  • Courageousness and the ability to effectively handle conflicts.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including regular evenings and weekends.
