Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Gecko Hospitality.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our Kitchen Manager in running a seamless kitchen operation, training and guiding our kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Kitchen Manager in managing kitchen operations, including prep, cooking, and service.
  2. Train and develop our kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  3. Oversee inventory management, ensuring that our pantry is stocked with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  4. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes.
  5. Ensure that all health and safety regulations are met, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as an Assistant Kitchen Manager or similar role in the culinary industry.
  2. Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience in the fast-paced world of food service.
  3. Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a team and prioritize tasks.
  4. A passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
