Microbiology Technician - Non-Sterile Lab at FOCUS Laboratories

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to join our dynamic team at FOCUS Laboratories Inc.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control testing on samples received from clients, ensuring that our laboratory meets the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to the overall maintenance and functionality of our non-sterile lab, helping us deliver reliable and timely results to our clients.
  • Perform a wide range of microbiological tests on client samples, including microbial limits, bioburden, disinfectant efficacy, total organic carbon, antimicrobial effectiveness, and endotoxin testing.
  • Rigorously document all data and test results in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as outlined in 21CFR210 and 211.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, including cleaning glassware, monitoring and recording temperature logs, disinfecting hoods and benches, managing waste disposal, performing environmental monitoring, and mopping floors.
  • Take charge of maintaining laboratory inventory by keeping track of supplies and preparing lists of items to be ordered.
  • Prepare microbiological media and perform quality control tests on the prepared media, as well as maintain the culture collection, prepare growth support cultures, and manage other inoculation cultures.
  • Immediately report any Out of Specification (OOS) results or deviations from test methods to the Group Leader or Laboratory Director, and assist in the investigation and resolution of any issues.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in microbiology, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with GDP, GMP, and relevant microbiological testing methods will be a strong advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while following safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
