WJLA is seeking a talented full-time News Photographer who possesses a creative flair and a strong background in electronic news gathering (ENG). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience working with a network affiliate news organization, covering a variety of assignments including daily news, in-depth features, and investigative stories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture high-quality footage in full high definition (HD) using media cards.
- Edit video content on both desktop and laptop systems.
- Demonstrate strong editing capabilities using non-linear editing systems.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and maintain a positive attitude.
- Show a genuine passion for storytelling and news coverage.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of shooting experience along with technical expertise in photo and video equipment.
- A degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- A collaborative team player who can deliver compelling stories under tight deadlines.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate ENG news vehicles.
- Capable of lifting and carrying weights between 25 and 50 pounds regularly.
