Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing materials to meet stock and order requirements in a timely manner
  • Consolidating requests, checking pricing and discounts, and placing accurate orders
  • Ensuring inquiries associated with orders are addressed promptly, including shipment date, type of freight, material handling, and other inquiries
  • Maintaining constant communication with vendors and project managers to expedite shipping and meet shipping receiving expectations
  • Processing order acknowledgements for product correctness, quantity accuracy, pricing verification, and invoice compliance
  • Communicating daily with project management group regarding any issues that may impact customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • 1+ years of buying experience
  • Computer proficiency, including strong background in Microsoft Office Suite, MRP/ERP, and/or bar-code systems
  • Experience in maintaining and growing relationships with manufacturers and vendors to improve overall purchase costs and efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with contacts, internal and external, at all levels
  • High sense of urgency and exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Technical purchasing experience in the door, hardware, or security industry a plus, but not required
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong aptitude for technical applications and mechanical systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
