About the Role

The Installation Supervisor is a key member of our team at AVI-SPL, responsible for overseeing the installation of our digital enablement solutions. This role requires a strong leader who can mentor and guide our installation teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Escalations: Support and resolve technical issues from the field team, working closely with other team members to find solutions.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control visits during and after installation to ensure high standards are met.
  • Site Surveys: Conduct pre-installation site surveys as needed to ensure a smooth installation process.
  • Installation Coordination: Coordinate and manage installation activities, including outsourced or subcontracted work, to support project installation activities.
  • Project Requirements: Develop a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives, including contractual, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work.
  • Process Improvement: Support and contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance our installation processes.
  • Installation Tasks: Demonstrate installation tasks for audiovisual projects, including cable pulling, termination, and equipment mounting.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • Travel: Travel to various job sites to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support Installation Technicians through their designated learning development plans.
Requirements
  • Leadership: Ability to implement and manage the activities of an installation workforce through recruiting, training, scheduling, and best-practices techniques.
  • Team Management: Ability to lead a cohesive team, create alignment among management, and attract and develop staff to create a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to guide team members towards a cohesive set of strategic objectives and maintain efficient timelines in the completion of tasks.
  • Results-Oriented: Proven ability to significantly contribute toward or lead operation initiatives with a results-oriented approach.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control, as well as familiarity with AV or other electromechanical systems.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adaptability: Excellent capability to switch tasks while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain strong working relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-Starter: Enthusiastic self-starter capable of working independently and ensuring to meet deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment.
  • Driver's License: Valid Drivers License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards.
  • Education: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA Certification: Current OSHA 30 certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelors Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Construction Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and experience with construction or project management theory and best practices.
  • Control System Knowledge: Minor control system and DSP programming capabilities including changes and troubleshooting.
  • Business Process Development: Extensive experience developing and implementing business processes and streamlining operations.
