Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimedia Team Lead and Project Manager to join our team at the University of Richmond. This is a full-time, exempt position responsible for leading a team of multimedia specialists, managing installations, and coordinating with vendors and university departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of multimedia specialists in maintaining university classrooms, offices, and public presentation venues.
  • Manage installations, coordinate with vendors, and ensure timely upgrades and maintenance of classrooms and multimedia systems.
  • Develop workflows for incident tickets and service requests, train staff on procedures and new technology, and create knowledge base articles.
  • Work with the TMSS Director on outstanding service issues and installation concerns, review incident and service tickets, and coordinate the annual audiovisual maintenance project.
  • Design multimedia installations, develop scope of work for vendor projects, and prioritize installations.
  • Coordinate with facilities department and outside furniture companies to design and build multimedia cabinets, ensure delivery and installation, and coordinate with vendors to install equipment.
  • Work with ACS/HD computer tech to install computers and specialty software, and sign off on all AV installations.
  • Maintain multimedia equipment, replace or coordinate replacement of faulty equipment, and compare repair costs to replacing with new equipment.
  • Coordinate support for service issues, installations, and special events, and work closely with the TMSS Director on service and MM projects.
Working Conditions/Physical Effort

This position requires significant physical effort, including lifting, carrying, and setting up equipment, and moving and setting up projectors and large screens.

Qualifications
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities, general knowledge of video conferencing technologies, and advanced knowledge of audio and video cabling.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, and ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and strong interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but will consider equivalent work experience in the field of multimedia/audiovisual equipment support.
  • 6-8 years of experience designing and supporting multimedia/audiovisual classroom installations, 4-5 years of experience as a project manager for multimedia projects, and 2-3 years of experience with Windows-based computers.
