Dental Support Professional

Southern Dental Alliance is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and possess a strong ability to multitask.
As a Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the dentists are set up for success prior to interfacing with patients and during patient procedures.
You will clearly communicate to the dentist the patient's needs and requests, as well as other education, procedures, diagnosis, and treatment-related matters prior to treatment.
The Dental Assistant will perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, including working chair-side as the dentist examines and treats patients.
The successful candidate will be proactive in ensuring the dentist's clinical and hygiene needs are met, making patients comfortable as they are seated in the dental chair, and preparing patients for treatment.
The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for obtaining accurate patient dental records, handing instruments and materials to the dentist, and keeping patients' mouths dry and clear using suction or other devices.
Additionally, the Dental Assistant will be responsible for sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, preparing trays of instruments for dental procedures, and instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and desktop publishing
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Must pass a criminal background check
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1 year of experience as a Dental or Medical Assistant
- Certified Dental Assistant
- Use of dental/medical technology
- Ability to connect with patients
- Driven and works with a sense of urgency
- Ability to multitask
- Professional, courteous, and approachable demeanor
- Cerac experience
