Stability and Control Engineer

Volt is partnering with JetZero to revolutionize the aerospace industry with blended wing body aircraft. We're seeking a skilled Stability and Control Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish stability and control capabilities for blended wing body configurations
  • Control surface sizing and allocation, axis decoupling, and mixing studies
  • Control law design and stability analysis in free air and ground effect
  • Modal analysis, including phugoid and Dutch roll
  • Evaluating handling qualities and assessing aero-elastic effects
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in aerodynamics from an accredited university
  • 6-8 years of experience in stability and control
  • Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics, aerospace control law techniques, and flight handling qualities
  • Experience with software tools like Mathworks Matlab, Simulink, OpenVSP, XFOIL, and AVL
