Overview

The University of New Mexico - Hospitals seeks a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our Clinical Nursing Support team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care.

Estimated Salary: $42,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience

About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, working closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Your responsibilities will include taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining supplies and equipment, and transporting patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is not required, but relevant training or certification is essential;
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required;
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an ICU environment, is preferred;
  • CPR certification for Healthcare Providers is required within 30 days of hire;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
