Job Summary

The Staff Nurse I is a skilled and compassionate professional who provides high-quality patient care to children and families. As a registered nurse on the 1st floor, you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to achieve patient care goals and ensure the best possible outcomes.

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
  • Work with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with best practices and advancements in pediatric nursing.
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound judgments and decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, walk, run, sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, push, pull, and demonstrate manual dexterity, mobility, and visual and auditory ability to perform the job.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with pediatric patients, particularly in rehabilitation, psychiatry, neurobehavioral, or developmental/emotionally impaired patients.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the ANA Professional Standards of Practice and Performance.
Working Conditions

This position requires regular exposure to body fluids, infectious waste, or blood-borne diseases, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established protocols.
