Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL driver to join our team as a Residential Driver in Nashville, TN. As a key member of our waste collection team, you will be responsible for operating a refuse collection vehicle on pre-assigned routes, collecting and dumping garbage and refuse, and providing exceptional customer service to the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a refuse collection vehicle on pre-established routes, collecting and dumping garbage and refuse in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide Distinguishably Different level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of refuse operation.
  • Ensure garbage and recyclables at residences are picked up and transferred properly, and tag improper refuse containers and waste.
  • Perform Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections as set forth by Waste Pro procedures and D.O.T. guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean truck and wash the exterior weekly, and inspect/clean the truck as needed.
  • Perform a variety of manual duties in the clean-up of scattered refuse, and move and empty large trash bins using truck hydraulics.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit required company and regulation-mandated reports and documents.
  • Responsible for all persons working on vehicle during the designated route.
Requirements
  • Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state of Tennessee, with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices, and have a good understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • Must be able to hear and see in the normal audio and visual range, and exhibit normal range of body motion.
  • Must be able to drive a front-end, side, rear-end, or roll off loading refuse truck, and manipulate heavy equipment control levers.
  • Must be able to follow a designated refuse collection route or work schedule, and understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Work Environment

Works in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations, including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind, noise, and vibrations.
