Job Overview
The Gel Production Supervisor is accountable for the safe, efficient, and environmentally conscious management of the Gel Division, including the associated storage facilities.

This role involves regular communication with the Site Manager and other team members regarding operational matters and departmental challenges. The supervisor will identify and implement areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Site Manager on all achievements, challenges, and concerns related to the Gel Division.
- Ensure that the Gel facility and its surroundings comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and policies.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the plant.
- Guide Operators to ensure product quality and efficiency while optimizing the use of personnel and resources.

- Provide technical guidance and support to address non-standard and emergency situations, acting as the incident commander in the absence of the Site Manager.
- Offer direction to operators for the safe handling and management of all equipment related to Xerogel, Hydrogel, and storage operations.

- Participate in product planning and scheduling for all Gel resources, including various SKUs.
- Monitor and evaluate unit performance, reporting any deviations from established plans and budgets, and take corrective actions as necessary.

- Foster a culture of participative management to ensure all plant personnel are committed to the business objectives.
- Promote a collaborative team environment.

- Collaborate with Union employees and management to establish annual goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in all work areas.

- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local, and corporate regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Manage operations to uphold excellent environmental practices and community stewardship.

- Actively engage with the plant safety committee.
- Advocate for continuous quality improvement principles and Responsible Care, employing techniques to enhance safety, quality, and production to meet or exceed the plant's established goals.

- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental practices, showing commitment to Responsible Care.
- Collaborate with the maintenance manager to oversee maintenance activities.

- Serve as the management representative for ISO9001 and any relevant food safety or environmental certifications.
- Oversee responsibilities as outlined in the Management Systems under PQ Vision.

- Lead and participate in EHS, quality, and productivity initiatives.
- Encourage and support the professional development of employees.
- Undertake special projects or additional duties as assigned.
