About the Role

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Communications Network Engineer Senior to join our team on the Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Contract. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, network engineering, service desk, and data transport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide network boundary professional services and thought leadership for the largest Intranet in the world.
  • Design, implement, and manage load balancing solutions to optimize network performance and ensure high availability for government applications.
  • Configure and maintain firewall systems to protect sensitive government data and ensure security compliance and resource availability.
  • Monitor network traffic and analyze performance metrics to identify and address current and potential issues.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures related to network boundary traffic management.
  • Collaborate with other enterprise network teams and departments to streamline firewall and load balancing solutions within the existing network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to network boundary appliances.
  • Provide network boundary expertise and technical guidance for junior network engineers and supporting staff.
  • Continuously improve services and implement new technologies to enhance network performance and security.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8-12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience engineering and troubleshooting networks, including extensive routing and switching experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance and ability to attain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Minimum of DoD IAT Level III Certification required prior to onboarding.
  • Associate level Network Vendor Certification required prior to onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience providing support to the NGEN-NMCI program.
  • Experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM) identity management solution.
  • Advanced/Professional level vendor certifications.
  • Demonstrated NET/SEC DevOps experience.
