Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer II

At Motorola Solutions, we're committed to helping people be their best in the moments that matter. As a Senior Systems Engineer II, you'll play a critical role in designing and deploying mission-critical communication systems for our government and public safety customers.

Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced technical professional to join our team as a Senior Systems Engineer II. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of assigned projects from award to system acceptance. You'll work closely with our sales, project management, and system technologist teams to deliver high-performance communication systems that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement radio networks, including infrastructure, subscribers, and mobile backhaul
  • Develop and present customer presentations
  • Conduct system staging and acceptance testing
  • Perform radio coverage testing and interference mitigation
  • Obtain radio system licensing (ISED)
  • Prepare system fleet-maps, encryption, and radio programming templates
  • Complete system documentation
  • Perform live system upgrades
  • Ensure the integrity of the architecture/design
Requirements:
  • Experience/knowledge in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, or broadband/LTE
  • Experience, good understanding, and working knowledge of IP networking, network design methodologies, and troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)
  • Certifications through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar
  • Previous knowledge and experience working with Juniper, Aviat, Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Xtreme, Ceragon
  • Experience directly working with end-user customers
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences
Additional Requirements:
  • Experienced technical professional (Professional Engineer) with multiple years of experience in Communications Systems design and deployment
  • Ability to present confidently and persuasively to internal and external customers
  • Solid understanding of communications systems and the Project Management environment
  • Proficiency with written and spoken English (mandatory) and French (desirable)
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in the applicable provincial Professional Engineering Association
