Position Overview:
This role involves delivering comprehensive financial advisory services to military personnel and their families at designated installations. The primary focus is on providing a wide range of personal financial counseling services tailored to the unique needs of service members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one financial counseling sessions, offering tailored advice and support.
- Collaborate with military leadership and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and relevance.
- Assist service members in developing effective spending plans, particularly during extended absences.
- Create and distribute educational financial materials to enhance financial literacy among service members and their families.
- Organize and facilitate various Personal Financial Management workshops covering critical topics throughout the military lifecycle.
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial education sessions.
- Utilize virtual counseling tools and secure communication methods to provide remote support when necessary.
- Adhere to Department of Defense protocols in managing sensitive situations.
- Engage in regular communication with leadership and participate in supervision and training activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required; however, an associate degree with four years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with six years of experience may be considered.
- A minimum of three years of experience in financial counseling is essential.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens and proficient in English.
- Ability to obtain a favorable adjudicated Tier 1 investigation is necessary.
- Certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) is required.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $53,125 and $84,995, reflecting current national data. Actual compensation will be adjusted based on individual qualifications and experience.
