Job Description

The Fresh Factory is a leading food and beverage manufacturing company that is rapidly expanding its operations. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sanitation and Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team.

Job Summary

The Sanitation and Quality Assurance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured at The Fresh Factory meet the highest standards of food safety and quality. This will involve overseeing all sanitation efforts, coordinating with production and quality assurance teams, and staffing the night quality assurance position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test and release finished product samples to ensure compliance with food safety and quality specifications
  • Monitor critical control points in the manufacturing process to prevent contamination and ensure product quality
  • Conduct regular environmental monitoring swabs and record results to ensure a safe working environment
  • Participate in regular food safety team meetings to discuss and implement best practices
  • Ensure the plant is audit-ready for SQF, Organic, FDA, and customer audits
  • Coordinate and oversee all sanitation personnel to ensure efficient and effective sanitation operations
  • Ensure all lines are cleaned and released from sanitation for morning startup
  • Represent the operations team in the absence of line leads as needed

Requirements

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility, preferably in a quality assurance or sanitation role
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work with multiple departments, including operations, maintenance, warehouse and logistics, and research and development
  • Ability to use a computer and tablet
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for most of the day
  • Ability to work in a cold room environment for up to 50% of the time
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment
