Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct and non-direct patient care duties and technical tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Director of Critical Care Nursing.
Responsibilities- Perform direct and non-direct patient care duties and technical tasks as assigned by and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Director of Critical Care Nursing.
- Assist with patient care activities, such as vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
- Operate medical equipment, such as EKG machines and phlebotomy equipment.
- Collect and process lab samples, including blood and urine specimens.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- High School Degree or equivalency: completion of Patient Care or Multiskilled Tech certification program.
- 13 years experience as nursing assistant, EKG Technician, Phlebotomist and/or other related healthcare experience.
- American Heart BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work well with others, conscientious, organized and reliable; computer skills for hospital information system; ability to read and write English.
- Nurse Aide certification, EKG certification and/or Phlebotomy certification.
This position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent exposure to patients with various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
Bi-Weekly Hours: 64 hours per pay period / 7A-7P Shift
