PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:The Corporate Security and Fire Safety Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our associates and assets. This position involves the professional execution of safety and security protocols, including the implementation of fire safety plans and acting as a Building Evacuation Supervisor. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a visible security presence to deter potential safety threats.
- Monitoring corporate technologies such as CCTV and access control systems.
- Conducting regular patrols and inspections to ensure a secure environment.
- Providing assistance and clear direction to associates and visitors.
SECURITY MANAGEMENT:
Key functions include:
- Monitoring and authorizing access to the premises to prevent theft and ensure safety.
- Conducting audits and inspections to uphold safety standards.
- Preparing accurate reports as required.
- Responding to emergencies and enforcing safety protocols.
PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE:
Essential duties involve:
- Staying informed about safety and security procedures.
- Participating in drills and maintaining necessary certifications.
- Monitoring safety conditions and maintaining readiness for emergencies.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT:
Fostering strong relationships with associates and local first responders is crucial. Responsibilities include:
- Providing professional service and information to associates and visitors.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Identifying opportunities for professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred qualifications include:
- College credits or military experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in safety and security.
- Proficiency in computer usage.
- Relevant certifications such as AED-CPR and NYS Security Guard license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role requires a full-time presence in the office, including participation in team meetings and collaboration. Candidates must be able to:
- Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee third-party security personnel as directed.
