About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Transmission Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Energy practice, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power systems for high-voltage transmission projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support for HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stations
  • Support HVDC cable routing and converter station feasibility studies
  • Provide technical support input during the project permitting phase
  • Prepare conceptual level engineering documents
  • Work with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities
  • Support clients with utility interface and technical coordination
  • Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)
  • Develop PSCAD models and perform analysis
  • Prepare one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, BOMs, wire schedules, and interconnection diagrams
  • Field experience including witnessing testing of HVDC equipment and systems
  • Develop construction and equipment specifications
  • Support projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning as needed
  • Perform grounding analysis and design
  • Review engineering work performed by peers
  • Attend client meetings
  • Assist in the promotion of AECOM's capabilities while maintaining our existing client base
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience must include electrical power engineering coupled with some leadership experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering required
  • Occasional travel required to other AECOM locations and Client sites
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required
