Job Summary: The Director of Aircraft Maintenance at Piasecki Aircraft Corporation is tasked with supervising all maintenance, repair, and testing functions for the company's fleet of aircraft. This pivotal role encompasses ensuring adherence to FAA and NAVAIR regulations, managing maintenance timelines, and leading a team of managers and technicians to maintain exceptional airworthiness and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction to align the maintenance department's objectives with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee aircraft maintenance and repair activities to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA and NAVAIR standards.
- Design and implement maintenance programs, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to FAA part 145 regulations and uphold AS9100 quality system standards.
- Manage and mentor a team of maintenance managers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate and oversee aircraft testing protocols in line with FAA and NAVAIR guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the seamless integration of maintenance operations.
- Maintain precise records of maintenance activities to satisfy regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to aircraft maintenance and repair.
- Stay updated on industry standards, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting maintenance and repair.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing maintenance processes, reducing operational costs, and ensuring safety standards are met.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of FAA and NAVAIR maintenance processes and regulations.
- Proven experience in leading aircraft maintenance teams and coordinating repair efforts.
- Strong analytical skills and technical expertise in aircraft maintenance.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace maintenance and repair.
- Experience with FAA part 145 repair station operations is essential.
- Prior experience in a senior management or director-level position in aircraft maintenance is preferred.
