In collaboration with the YPLAY Coordinator, the YPLAY Caregiver plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, care, and overall well-being of all children in the program. This position is dedicated to nurturing children's social, physical, spiritual, and cognitive development by creating a supportive and engaging environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify the core values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
  • Guarantee a secure environment for all participants
  • Provide care for children ranging from six weeks to six years old in the YPLAY initiative
  • Facilitate activities that encourage children's growth in Spirit, Mind, and Body
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Foster relationships with members and families
  • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training sessions

Qualifications:

We seek individuals who are passionate about the YMCA's mission and dedicated to community service. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Professionalism, conflict resolution abilities, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential.

Required Certifications:

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation training prior to the first shift
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification within the first month of employment

In performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee must be capable of managing various physical tasks and may encounter different weather conditions. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds is required.
