Payroll Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team at Dawson. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and supporting the Workday Payroll and Time Tracking systems, as well as preparing and distributing payroll and overtime reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll Processing: Assist the Sr. Payroll Accountant in processing bi-weekly US payroll and posting into the various general ledger accounts, as well as processing weekly international consultant workforce pay.
- Payroll Systems Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of payroll systems, including Workday Payroll and Time Tracking.
- Reporting and Analysis: Produce and distribute payroll and overtime reporting as needed by cross-functional teams, and identify opportunities for Workday payroll process improvements.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in coordinating financial reporting activities related to payroll and treasury admin functions, and prepare accurate and timely Workday account reconciliations.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain supporting documentation of all payrolls, and assist with adding and closing tax jurisdictions.
- Continuous Improvement: Work alongside the Sr. Payroll Accountant on payroll and accounting initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Experience: 4-5 years of strong and proficient payroll and accounting experience.
- Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
- Skills: Multi-state, federal, and local tax experience required, payroll tax processing experience is required, proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), ability to assess a sense of urgency and prioritization of work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proven customer service skills while maintaining a confidential work environment.
