Your responsibilities will include cashiering, restocking, sorting and pricing donations, and maintaining a safe and tidy work environment.
Your Impact:
You will engage in proactive selling and promote merchandise effectively, while building relationships with clients. Your duties will encompass operating cash registers, processing returns and exchanges, and other Point of Sale (POS) transactions. You will greet and assist customers and donors, adhering to established customer service protocols. Additionally, you will stock, price, and organize donations and merchandise, ensuring a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Attendance at meetings may be required, along with performing related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
To be successful at Howard Brown, you should possess:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A strong ability to drive sales and contribute to store profitability.
- Effective problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
- A professional demeanor that positively represents the organization.
- A willingness to work with diverse populations.
- Preferred experience of at least one year in resale or retail sales and cashiering.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of fashion trends, vintage items, and collectibles in the resale market is a plus.
Working Environment:
The role is set in a fast-paced, casual atmosphere. Space is shared and must be utilized efficiently. You may encounter high volumes and irregular hours, including weekends, with the flexibility to work at various locations as needed.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to communicate effectively and listen attentively. You should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and more with assistance. Standing, walking, stooping, bending, squatting, and climbing for extended periods are necessary. You may need to work in varying weather conditions. Flexibility and willingness to travel locally for training may also be required.
