Job Overview
I. POSITION SUMMARY
Department: Base Supply Stores

Reports to: Manager and/or Assistant Manager
II. OBJECTIVE
The primary goal is to assist in all matters related to customer service.
III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and assist Customer Service Representatives as needed.
IV. COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Engage with customers effectively and ensure their needs are met.
V. SUPERVISION REQUIRED
Daily oversight is necessary.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma is required, along with one year of relevant experience.
TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental retail knowledge and proficiency with computerized checkout systems are essential.
VIII. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.
IX. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
No travel is required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage all customer-related inquiries and issues.
2. Contact customers regarding the collection of special orders.
3. Gather additional information from customers as necessary.
4. Ensure that daily price updates are communicated and displayed appropriately.
5. Assist customer service representatives during peak times.
6. Help restock shelves during quieter periods.
7. Generate reports to track sales orders and their impact on budgeted sales.
8. Register and monitor customer complaints, ensuring prompt follow-up and resolution.
9. Educate customers about the DOD Emall program and assist with navigation.
10. Support customers in setting up accounts on the BuyLCI website.
11. Utilize Axapta for creating and managing sales orders.
12. Ensure timely order fulfillment by coordinating with vendors.
13. Reconcile sales orders with inventory to minimize customer wait times.
14. Request new item loads for special requests.
15. Provide quotes on contracts and follow up accordingly.
16. Leverage marketing tools to enhance sales opportunities.
17. Maintain a database of customers who prefer to shop via phone, fax, or email.
18. Engage with vendor representatives during their sales visits to gain product insights.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position typically operates in a moderate office environment. Regular activities include sitting, standing, walking, and using hands.
