Job Overview

Position: Mathematics Instructor (Grades 6 to 8)

Compensation: Up to $55 per hour

Role Summary:

The Mathematics Instructor is responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons that adhere to the curriculum standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans that align with educational standards and incorporate technology to enhance learning.
  • Prepare detailed instructions for substitute educators to ensure continuity in learning.
  • Create a classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and achievement while maintaining accurate records of student progress.
  • Encourage student participation and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Adhere to school policies and collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
  • Exhibit professionalism and participate in extracurricular activities to contribute to the school community.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and educational strategies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited institution.
  • Clearances for criminal background checks as required by state regulations.

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Valid Instructional Certificate from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expertise in the subject matter and effective instructional techniques to promote student growth.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for educational purposes and student management.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills to facilitate a productive learning environment.
  • Understanding of educational methodologies and practices relevant to middle school education.
  • Ability to implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) strategies.
  • Familiarity with critical thinking and problem-solving approaches in teaching.
