We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support, based on physical, psychosocial, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective and safe patient outcomes.
  • Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status and rendered care.
  • Take initiative to improve job performance and create new opportunities for growth and development.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician program, or equivalent medical background experience.
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care and service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or certification in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar.
  • At least one year of PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting, or eligible for the HMH PCT apprentice program.
Licenses and Certifications
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of hire.
