Job Title: Building Maintenance Mechanic

Cortland County is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our Buildings and Grounds Department, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general mechanical maintenance and repair work, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, heating, and electrical work.
  • Operate equipment for maintenance, construction, and snow removal.
  • Work under general supervision, exercising independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work.
  • Supervise the work of Building Maintenance Workers and other subordinate employees.
Requirements:
  • Either one year of experience at a journey-level in one of the skilled building trades, or four years of experience in general building construction or maintenance work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Possession of a valid NYS driver's license.
