Overview:
The Electrical and Control Systems Engineer will spearhead all initiatives related to Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical (ICE) at the facility. This multifaceted and demanding position necessitates expertise across all three disciplines. The role is responsible for ensuring electrical safety compliance at the site for both internal and external stakeholders, adhering to company standards and all applicable regulations. The engineer will provide technical support and troubleshooting, enhance ICE-related reliability, oversee capital projects, and drive continuous improvements of ICE systems and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for safety in all ICE activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols in every project, regardless of scale.
  • Guarantee the safety of all personnel during daily operations, troubleshooting, and project phases, particularly during installation and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to electrical safety policies and timely responses to safety-related requests.
  • Design, implement, and enhance instrumentation and electrical distribution systems.
  • Develop strategies to address system obsolescence and ensure availability of critical spare parts.
  • Utilize proven technologies and adhere to design standards while promoting regional standardization.
  • Identify and develop new technologies to support initiatives like Industry 4.0.
  • Manage all aspects of manufacturing, construction, installation, and maintenance related to ICE efforts.
  • Focus on delivering projects that enhance safety, reliability, environmental control, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and review equipment specifications and construction bid packages, ensuring all deliverables meet customer expectations.
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Enhance reliability and minimize downtime of ICE assets through optimized maintenance strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical) with a preference for electrical and power distribution experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of multidisciplinary ICE experience, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in controlling scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Proficient in risk management methodologies and developing mitigation plans.
  • Experience in quality control techniques to ensure project deliverables meet standards.
  • Familiarity with HAZID and HAZOP assessments and knowledge of relevant safety codes.
  • Experience in sectors such as Power Generation, Industrial Automation, Agriculture, or Food & Beverage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products and collaborative software.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
Reporting Structure:
  • This position reports directly to the Site Manager and functionally to the Regional ICE Manager.
Schedule:
  • This is a full-time position, with potential for extended hours based on business needs.
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel may be required, approximately 5-20%, depending on plant needs.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in various climate conditions and around operational machinery.
