About this Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications OSP Field Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications OSP Field Technician, you will be responsible for collecting field data for permitting information, including the preparation of field notes and recorded measurements of all existing utilities, structures, roadways, and construction obstacles.

This role will require extensive travel in and around the Houston area, and you will be based anywhere in Houston, TX and/or outlying areas of Houston.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Deliver preliminary designs using Make Ready Engineering, perform OSP Ride-out Activities, including preliminary design pole verification, parcel verification, design verification, utility verification, identify routing obstacles, and aerial to underground percentage verification.
  • Gather any local ordinances or requirements and all other preliminary data collection not specifically called out.
  • Develop accurate network documentation.
  • Locate fiber optic cables and equipment; locate coax cables and equipment.
  • Travel to locations where projects will be executed on an ongoing/regular basis.
  • Deliver projects within timeline and ensure quality of work completed.
  • Adhere to all company safety practices and policies.
  • Additional duties as needed and/or assigned.

Work Environment:

This role requires outdoor site visits in various weather conditions. You will be required to dress appropriately and meet safety standards while on-site.

What You'll Bring:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of Telecom, Fiber, and Outside Plant, as well as relevant experience with utilities, cabling, or construction. You should have a strong ability to communicate effectively and courteously with others.

Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Qualify on pre-employment screening.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends.
