About Duke University Hospital
Located in Durham, North Carolina, Duke University Hospital is recognized as one of the premier hospitals in the United States. With a capacity of 1,048 patient beds and 65 operating rooms, we offer a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, including a regional emergency/trauma center and an endo-surgery center.

Position Overview
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will coordinate and engage in various technical procedures involving radioactive materials and measurement instruments. Your role will include:

  • Conducting in vivo and in vitro studies using advanced imaging devices.
  • Calibrating and preparing radiopharmaceutical materials for patient administration.
  • Evaluating recorded images for technical quality and processing computerized image data.
  • Providing care for patients of all ages during examinations and ensuring their safety.
  • Maintaining accurate records related to radiopharmaceutical handling and disposal.
  • Training and mentoring radiologic technology students and new staff.
  • Assisting in the development of new procedures to enhance patient care.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must have completed a program that meets the eligibility requirements for certification. Experience is not mandatory beyond educational qualifications, but:

  • Level I candidates must obtain ARRT or NMCTB certification within 12 months.
  • Level II candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience.
  • Level III candidates should possess at least four years of experience in their specialty.

Skills and Abilities
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in office-related software and general computer skills.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and protection.
  • IV placement and management capabilities.
