Surgical Care Coordinator

The Registered Nurse Circulator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner at Williamson Health in Franklin, Tennessee.
About the RoleThis position requires the RN to maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, monitor patient status, and collaborate with the healthcare team while providing compassionate care to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments on patients, developing age-specific plans of care and communicating nursing plans to the healthcare team.
- Anticipate and provide equipment and supplies in a timely and organized manner based on patient and surgeon needs.
- Maintain a sterile field by following aseptic practice principles and initiating corrective action when necessary.
- Count and document supplies accurately, taking corrective action when discrepancies occur.
- Position patients safely and efficiently, adhering to policy and procedure.
- Monitor and control the OR Suite environment, maintaining traffic patterns and adhering to sanitation policies.
- Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications and solutions safely and according to hospital and departmental policies.
- Return equipment and supplies to their proper place, preparing the OR room for the next case.
- Use supplies judiciously and document patient charges accurately.

Requirements- Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- Must respond to hospital within thirty minutes for 'on call' requirements.
- Previous Surgery experience.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
