Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist at Corewell Health Lakeland, you will apply scientific knowledge and therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. You will work as a team member in the delivery of respiratory services, under medical direction, performing a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs of various age groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to determine respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.
  • Assess the effectiveness of treatment and accurately document according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
  • Perform advanced evaluation, management, and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
  • Complete and document required education and competencies within designated timeframe.
  • Accurately and timely complete all necessary documentation and billing.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition for patients to appropriate referral services or the next point of service.
  • Instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing, and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent clinical education.
  • LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI.
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC.
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA.
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA.
