Position Summary:

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to become an integral part of our medical team. This role is essential in ensuring the health and welfare of the animals entrusted to us by accurately preparing and managing medications.


Key Details:

  • Location: Papago Park Campus
  • Status: Full-time hourly
  • Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, including potential weekends
  • Reports To: Inventory Control Supervisor

Role Responsibilities:

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be pivotal in maintaining the health of our animals by ensuring the precise preparation and safe management of medications. Your main duties will include:

  • Preparing medications for animals in the shelter, foster care, or awaiting adoption.
  • Providing guidance to team members regarding medication administration.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory levels of supplies and medications.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least two years of experience in a veterinary setting, pharmacy, or shelter; education may substitute for experience.
  • Ability to accurately measure medications.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn additional software.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and handling of materials. The ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds is necessary. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
