Position Overview

We are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Traffic Engineer to contribute to our Burnsville, MN office. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on various projects for state and local governments, as well as private sector initiatives, with a primary focus on transportation.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Traffic Engineer will play a crucial role in the successful execution of transportation projects, ensuring they are designed to be safe, efficient, and economically viable. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting traffic analysis and modeling
  • Designing traffic systems
  • Managing projects
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration
  • Engaging in public outreach
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong technical, communication, and leadership abilities
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative mindset
  • A commitment to professional growth
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Expertise in traffic analysis and design software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering
  • A B.S. in Civil Engineering (or a related field) with a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota
  • Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
