Labor and Employment Attorney

At Jackson Lewis P.C., we are seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to join our team in Orange County, CA. As an Of Counsel attorney, you will play a key role in representing employers in traditional labor matters, including unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining agreements, and grievance proceedings.
Key Responsibilities- Traditional Labor Relations: Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), research and write, represent management in NLRB elections, provide legal advice on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements, negotiate and/or provide legal advice on collective bargaining agreements, handle grievance, arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings, and obtain mass picketing injunctions.
- Employment Law: Advise employers on federal and California wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodating issues, and other workplace issues.
- Policy Review and Development: Review handbooks, policies, and forms for compliance with federal and state law, review compensation, commission, and bonus plans, and conduct management training on labor relations, federal and California workplace issues, and harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
- JD from an ABA accredited law school
- Minimum 9 years of litigation or advice work as an attorney
- Traditional labor experience preferred
- Federal and/or California advice and counsel work preferred
- CA Bar Admission
- Understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bilingual, English and Spanish, is preferred but not required
- May include regular business travel
