We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at BluePearl Vet, LLC. As a key member of our Overnight Emergency and Critical Care department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, utilizing anesthesia/monitoring equipment to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure, and alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR, ensuring prompt and effective response to emergency situations.
- Properly calculate medical math, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
- Be proficient in performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Have a passion for mentoring and training other colleagues, contributing to a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Exhibit patience and empathy when addressing client concerns, providing exceptional customer service.
