Position Overview
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work from one of three convenient locations. Brick, NJ, Farmingdale, NJ, or Staten Island, NY.
This leadership role allows the candidate to engage directly with Family Business Owners, High Net Worth Individuals, and Corporations, delivering consultative tax planning strategies while contributing to a burgeoning Tax practice. Please note that this position requires in-person attendance at the office, and we are not considering relocation at this time.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Return Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of business tax returns (1065, 1120, 1120S), individual income tax returns for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (1040), gift tax returns (709), and trust/estate returns.
- May involve preparation of tax returns during peak season with a collaborative approach.
- Client Coordination: Work closely with clients and their advisors to oversee quarterly and year-end tax planning and projections.
- Supervision and Review: Manage and assess the output of other tax professionals on client engagements.
- Mentorship and Development: Motivate, mentor, and retain junior tax accountants by providing challenging tasks and growth opportunities.
- Stay Informed: Remain updated on technical and industry changes, evaluating their implications for clients' business and financial situations.
- Client Proposals: Collaborate directly with leadership in the preparation of client proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Advanced tax-related degree (MST, J.D., LLM, etc.) is preferred.
- CPA designation is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in a small, mid-sized, or National/Regional CPA firm or a tax consulting practice.
- Proficiency in ProSeries and other tax-related software programs.
- Dedicated to the ongoing professional development of the team.
