Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Exercise Science to join our faculty at the University of South Carolina. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in exercise science, with a focus on applied physiology, and a proven track record of securing external funding for research activities. The position requires an earned doctoral degree in an exercise science-related field and at least nine years of relevant experience in higher education.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise science, including courses in human performance, translational -omics, biochemistry, and nutrition.
  • Secure external funding for research activities and publish in nationally- and internationally-recognized, top-tier, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to the development of research programs in exercise science, with a focus on human performance, translational -omics, biochemistry, and nutrition.
  • Supervise graduate students and provide mentorship in research and academic pursuits.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in an exercise science-related field (e.g., kinesiology, nutrition, neuroscience, etc.).
  • At least nine years of relevant experience in higher education, including teaching, research, and service.
  • Strong research background in exercise science, with a focus on applied physiology.
  • Proven track record of securing external funding for research activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students.
  • Strong publication record in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals.
