Assistant Professor of Computer Science

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Computer Science to join our faculty in the Department of Computer Science, Engineering & Mathematics at the University of South Carolina Aiken. This tenure-track position is focused on Software Engineering/Software Development and will begin on August 16, 2024.
Responsibilities- Teach a wide range of Computer Science courses at the undergraduate level, utilizing engaged learning strategies appropriate to the discipline and level.
- Conduct research and maintain an active research group involving students.
- Collaborate with industry and government partners, including the National Guard's Cybersecurity Readiness Center and the Advanced Manufacturing National Lab Collaborative.
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of the department and the university.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field by August 16, 2024. Expertise in software engineering/software development is essential, as is the potential for effective teaching and demonstrated scholarly productivity.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in teaching and research, as well as a strong background in software engineering/software development.
