The Instructional Support Specialist works within designated preschool or kindergarten classrooms, providing essential instructional and clerical assistance under the guidance of classroom educators.

- Assisting with assessments, grading assignments, and maintaining records under the supervision of certified educators.
- Distributing and collecting educational materials such as workbooks and papers.
- Performing clerical tasks including copying, collating, and filing instructional documents.
- Creating and maintaining engaging classroom displays, bulletin boards, and signage.
- Operating and maintaining instructional equipment.
- Supervising students during various activities including emergency drills, assemblies, and field trips.
- Alerting teachers to any concerns or important information regarding students.
- Upholding the confidentiality of student and staff information.
- Adhering to all relevant policies, regulations, and guidelines.

This position operates within a school setting.
Physical DemandsThe physical requirements necessary for this role include:
- Regularly seeing, speaking, and hearing.
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed.
- Reaching with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lifting, pushing, or moving up to 50 pounds.
This is a 9-month, part-time position requiring 30 hours per week. The work schedule includes 7.5 hours per day from Monday to Thursday during core business hours.
Required Education and Experience- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree, 60 college credits from an accredited institution, or satisfactory results on an Arizona state-approved competency exam (ParaPro).
Experience working with children or students is advantageous.
Certifications/LicensesFirst Aid/CPR certification and/or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training may be required.
Work Authorization/Security ClearanceCandidates must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card through the appropriate state department.
