Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic II with extensive experience in motor coach maintenance and repair to join our team at Controlled Force Inc.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge, hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing motor coaches, and an understanding of fleet maintenance practices.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness of our transportation fleet, contributing to the safety and efficiency of services provided in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on motor coaches, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a variety of motor coach makes and models.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on motor coaches, including engine, transmission, brake systems, and electrical components.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
  • Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Assist in the ordering of parts and supplies as needed, and collaborate with parts clerks to ensure inventory levels are adequate.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics and apprentices, promoting safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns, providing timely on-site repair services as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring all repairs are completed within established timelines and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with transportation teams to ensure the fleet is in top operating condition.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE Certifications) in heavy vehicle or motor coach repair are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in motor coach maintenance and repair.
  • In-depth knowledge of motor coach engines, transmissions, electrical, and braking systems.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and computerized systems used for motor coach troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in a high-demand fleet or transportation environment is preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
  • Effective communication skills for working with team members and leadership.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and under vehicles when necessary.
