Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, equipment usage, and project progress.
  • Collaborate with the installation team to assist with fiber optic cable pulling, splicing, and testing activities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Directional Drill Operator in the telecommunications or utility industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of directional drilling techniques and equipment.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic cable installation and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to drilling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments.

This role requires 80% travel, with per diem and hotel stays provided. Overtime is required, and you must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Fiber splicing overview training is also provided, including sending light over fiber and knowledge of optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs), basic networking training, basic fiber training, and fusion splicing and OTDR experience.
