Your Responsibilities
Job Overview:
You will take on a pivotal role in providing technical guidance for projects while assisting the Project Manager in overseeing the engineering team's performance regarding budget, timeline, and client satisfaction. This position operates with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Communicating all technical matters, decisions, and challenges to the Hargrove Project Manager.
- Collaborating with clients on technical design considerations.
- Working alongside the Project Management Team (including PM, Construction Manager, Procurement Manager, Quality Manager, and Project Controls Lead) to address execution challenges.
Supporting the Project Manager in:
- Managing engineering budgets and schedules, including identifying, estimating, and documenting scope changes.
- Providing weekly and monthly updates on engineering status and issues.
- Planning, scheduling, and forecasting engineering resources in conjunction with Project Discipline Leads and Department Resource Leaders.
Maintaining awareness of man-hours and estimate bases, tracking against TIC estimate quantities, and recognizing scope changes as the project advances.
Facilitating the development of project-specific engineering and design protocols, ensuring proper approvals are obtained when deviating from established procedures.
Coordinating engineering contributions for project scope documents (e.g., Scope & Criteria documents, Engineering Execution Plans, etc.).
Ensuring timely delivery of multi-discipline outputs, including Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Area Classification Drawings, Post-IFD P&IDs, and General Arrangement Drawings.
Leading inter-discipline collaboration to resolve design conflicts.
For projects involving 3D modeling, regularly review the model focusing on:
- Timely inter-discipline coordination
- Addressing loss prevention issues
- Ensuring clash detection is performed and conflicts are resolved
- Reviewing design deliverables for inter-discipline consistency and adequacy of reviews
Overseeing overall quality assurance of engineering outputs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
Certifications:
Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials are highly desirable.
Experience:
This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Hargrove's project execution protocols.
- Understanding of company business standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in company engineering standards and project control tools.
- Ability to lead teams in meeting commitments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
- Demonstrated capability in coordinating and resolving complex technical issues.
- Strong client relationship management skills in challenging scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
