Position Summary

We are looking for an Automation and Process Control Engineer to join our Operations Development team. This role is crucial in fostering business growth and enhancing operational efficiency through innovative automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Operational Excellence team to drive continuous improvements in production methodologies.
  • Work alongside factory management and manufacturing personnel to design, develop, and refine processes, equipment, and tools.
  • Serve as a key link between product design engineering and production teams, facilitating the implementation of new solutions and optimizing data collection for operational analysis.

Essential Duties

  • Assess current processes and devise new strategies to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Create programming codes and develop dashboards tailored for operators and supervisors.
  • Coordinate with IT to identify software and hardware that align with existing systems.
  • Utilize technology to integrate diverse data sources, including production metrics, design specifications, and financial data.
  • Update and refine manufacturing data collection procedures.
  • Implement and control improvements by defining, measuring, processing, and analyzing relevant data.
  • Propose and execute manufacturing enhancement projects, establishing objectives, action plans, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
  • Provide management with updates on project progress, processing standards, and return on investment (ROI) analyses.
  • Occasional travel may be required to gather data and engage in project discussions.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Analysis, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PowerBI for automating data collection and analysis.
  • Experience in developing solutions using PowerApps and Power Automate.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint, with the ability to create forms and lists to streamline process flows.
  • Programming skills in Python or a similar language.

Work Experience

  • Familiarity with ERP systems; knowledge of D365 is advantageous.
  • At least one year of relevant experience or internships focusing on similar tasks.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or willingness to obtain such training.

Additional Skills

  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization, including customers and suppliers.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills.
