Job Overview:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for evaluating a variety of components, parts, and products within the designated area, adhering to all relevant specifications and quality assurance protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough examinations and quality control assessments on products, materials, and components at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to established quality and reliability standards.
2. Participate in the collection of statistical data related to products and processes.
3. Perform visual inspections of soldered connections and mechanical evaluations of electronic and electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
4. Execute visual inspections of soldered assemblies according to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards, including harness assemblies.
5. Prepare and complete all necessary documentation for reporting the acceptance or rejection of inspected and/or tested items.
6. Identify design, process, or other inefficiencies and communicate quality concerns and issues.
7. Conduct routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, individual parts, final assemblies, and tooling.
8. Locate and utilize the correct part, assembly, and material specifications or drawings.
9. Apply tolerances and dimensions with the required accuracy and precision.
10. Prepare certifications in accordance with applicable regulations.
11. Maintain both hard copy and electronic records.
12. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Attendance Requirements:
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is essential. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and additional hours as necessary may be required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
2-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Capable of applying a systematic quality assurance approach while utilizing existing procedures to resolve a range of technical issues.
- Skilled in measuring and using test equipment as dictated by job assignments.
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficient in interpreting and following written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches.
- Competent computer skills.
- Ability to read written/printed specifications and drawings.
