Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dentist to serve as Associate Chief Dentist in our Dental Service Line. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the clinical services of the Dental Service Line, including planning, developing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating the services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the clinical services of the Dental Service Line, including planning, developing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating the services.
  • Work closely with the Dental Chief to oversee the operations of the Dental Clinic, including supervision of Dental Staff members.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative operations and program/section managers to ensure integrated goals and priorities for Dental are established and met.
  • Ensure that department expenditures are within allocated budget and that department supplies, equipment, etc., are ordered and purchased.
  • Ensure that the department adheres to accreditation requirements and that staff maintains licensure.
  • Assign work to subordinates, approve leave, prepare performance plans, administer discipline, resolve grievances and complaints, and provide training and awards.
  • Initiate Human Resources actions for vacant positions, interview and select candidates alongside the Dental Chief.

  • Provide professional guidance to dental hygienists and dental laboratory technicians.
  • Provide mentorship to dental team, residents, and students.
Requirements
  • A degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or dental medicine resulting from a course of education in dentistry.
  • Completed, or currently completing, a residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients.
  • Currently hold, or will hold, a current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience

A minimum of 5 years experience supervising staff that includes Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Dental Lab Technicians.
