Your Role and Contributions:

In this position, you will leverage your understanding of the National Flood Insurance Program, Risk MAP, and Community Rating System (CRS) to assist senior personnel in creating reports, external communications, and providing technical support to clients and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate meetings and provide technical assistance to public stakeholders.
  • Compile and update reports and map graphics.
  • Develop training materials and engage in technical writing related to GIS and mapping tools.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in GIS, planning, engineering, or a related discipline, along with up to 5 years of relevant experience. A minimum of 2 years in floodplain management, GIS, hydrology and hydraulics modeling, or hazard mitigation plan development is preferred.

Specialized Skills:

  • Proficiency in Esri's ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap software.
  • Basic knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program, Risk MAP, and CRS.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in developing outreach materials and training content.
  • Familiarity with audio and video editing is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and online communication tools.
