Instruction & Student Learning Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assigned courses as per the schedule and oversee curriculum in alignment with departmental policies, ensuring program rigor and instructional quality.
  • Develop inclusive curricula that embrace diversity and foster student talent while employing inclusive teaching strategies, mindful of sociocultural issues affecting underrepresented groups.
  • Adapt learning activities to accommodate individual student differences.
  • Identify students with academic needs and utilize appropriate resources to support them.
  • Integrate technology effectively in courses and clearly communicate expectations regarding its use.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with institutional guidelines.
  • Track attendance, submit grades promptly, and provide ongoing feedback to students throughout the semester.
  • Create and update syllabi that meet departmental and institutional requirements.
  • Select appropriate materials to support course content in line with institutional guidelines.
  • Conduct classes punctually as per the established schedule.
  • Design and implement effective assessment techniques to evaluate student performance in achieving course objectives.

  • Refer students to relevant academic and support services available.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Encourage ongoing improvement in teaching and learning by assisting in the maintenance of instructional materials and facilities, contributing to the development of instructional resources, and recommending curriculum modifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Chemistry from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in a teaching laboratory setting.

Additional Information:

  • This is a teaching position based at the designated campus.

Compensation Details:

9-Month Instructor Salary: $47,160 - $60,086

Optional Summer Semester (Full load): $15,257 - $17,088
Optional Overload (maximum amounts shown):

  • Autumn Semester (12 contact hours max): $11,520
  • Spring Semester (12 contact hours max): $11,520
  • Summer Semester (9 contact hours max): $8,640

Working Conditions:

  • Classroom environments may include in-person or online modalities.
